An Australian man who vaulted past a barrier and grabbed Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been deported and prohibited from Singapore.

The individual, aged 26, was handed a penalty to nine days in jail for causing a public disturbance and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority informed local media.

The man shoved through camera crews and charged at the actress and singer, who was present at the Asian debut for the film on the thirteenth of November. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

He has a background of causing disturbances at events and high-profile gatherings, including jumping on stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in June this year.

The event provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with several individuals accusing him of triggering past trauma for the singer.

The celebrity has mentioned suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist bombing at her concert in Manchester in spring of 2017 took the lives of over twenty people and hurt numerous attendees.

Throughout the court proceedings, the court heard he had tried to gain access on the film's premiere multiple times, according to local news sources.

He then made a second attempt to jump the barricades. Security staff prevented him and pinned him down.

Wen later posted recordings thanking Grande for letting him on the carpet and said he was "released."

Authorities took him into custody the following day and brought charges against him with public nuisance, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Presiding Judge the magistrate was quoted by media reports as remarking that he was looking for publicity, noting that he was incorrect to assume he would not suffer any consequences.

The singer has not addressed the case.

Erivo mentioned the event to a media outlet, remarking that she "only aimed to make sure my co-star was safe."

"I believe he didn't mean us harm, but you cannot be certain with those things, and I aimed to confirm that she was fine. That was my initial reaction," she stated.
