Los Angeles Battles Historic Heat Only One Week Following Severe Winter Storm.
Following a week of torrential rains that led to inundation across areas in the city, the City of Angels is now grappling with unseasonably high conditions for late February.
Record-Setting Heat
During the day Friday, the mercury climbed to 33 degrees Celsius (91 Fahrenheit) in the city center, per data from weather officials. This easily surpasses the previous daily record for February 27th, which was 31 degrees Celsius (88 Fahrenheit) and was recorded in the previous year.
"Exceptionally warm weather" were labeled on NWS graphics for the region.

Authorities cautioned that Friday's weather posed an "elevated risk for heat illness" for vulnerable populations. Their guidance featured:
- Staying hydrated.
- Limiting outdoor activities during the afternoon hours of the day.
- Ensuring you do not leave children or pets unattended in a parked vehicle.
A Sharp Weather Swing
This dramatic increase in mercury follows closely after a intense winter storm that struck the state last week. That storm delivered high winds, thunderstorms, and significant snowfall to higher elevations, triggering evacuation orders for countless residents.

Weekend Outlook
The outlook suggests a cooldown will arrive. The heat were forecast to fall to around sixty-one degrees Fahrenheit in downtown LA by overnight.
Additional areas that reached the 90-degree mark were Long Beach, Burbank, and Woodland Hills. Elsewhere, Santa Maria, Oxnard, Camarillo, and Westwood were forecast to reach the high 80s.
In the coming days, downtown LA can anticipate readings in the eighties, with mid-70s temperatures expected for the week ahead.
